Farm Partnership Programme

Green Root Programme

Adobha Agro's Supply Chain Moat — Contracting India's Coconut Farms for the Long Term.

The Problem

The problem with coconut food in India is not processing.

Processing is a commodity — anyone can do it.

The problem is supply chain control.
Whoever controls the farms controls quality, pricing, and margin at scale.

That is what the Green Root Programme is building.

A Farmer's Story

Why Balaraman stopped selling to brokers.

Most coconut farmers in South India don't lack hard work. They lack a fair system. Local brokers show up at harvest, offer a price take-it-or-leave-it, pay when they feel like it, and disappear between seasons. Balaraman knew this better than most.

Price

Spot rate — changes every week. Some seasons ₹12/nut, some ₹8. No way to plan.

Price

Fixed contracted rate above market average. Agreed upfront. No surprises.

Payment

45–60 days late, sometimes longer. Farmer waits. Broker decides when.

Payment

Scheduled annual payment on contract terms. On time, every time.

Inputs Support

Zero. Farmer buys own fertilisers, tools, plant material. All out-of-pocket.

Inputs Support

Fertilisers, tools, and plant material provided. Adobha absorbs the input cost.

Security

No contract. Broker can walk away after any harvest. No guarantee of next season.

Security

3–5 year written contract. Farmer knows their income for years ahead, not just today.

Farm Management

Trial and error. No agronomist, no data. Professional farm management was unaffordable.

Farm Management

Adobha agronomists visit regularly. Scientific approach, digital traceability, yield planning.

Balaraman's 600 trees now generate a predictable annual income — with professional management he could never afford on his own.

This is what the Green Root Programme does for every farmer.
The Model

How the Green Root Programme Works

1

We lease your coconut trees for 3–5 years.

2

You keep your land. You keep full ownership.

3

We deploy our own farm team and agronomist to manage everything — harvest scheduling, quality grading, soil health, and compliance.

Professional farm management that most landowners could never justify the cost of independently.

4

You receive a guaranteed fixed annual payment — agreed in the contract before the season begins.

No waiting on broker timelines. No end-of-season surprises. Your income is settled in writing, upfront.

5

We handle all sales, logistics, and downstream distribution. You have no obligations once the contract is signed.

Whether you live in Dharapuram or Dubai — your farm earns for you while you focus on your life.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything a farm owner or investor needs to know before getting in touch.

Do I need to give up ownership of my land or trees?+
No. You keep full ownership of your land and your trees — always. The Green Root Programme is a lease agreement, not a sale. We lease the trees for 3–5 years. You retain the title deed, the land, and the trees. When the contract ends, everything returns to you — with better-managed, more productive trees than when we started.
What if I live abroad — can I still participate?+
Yes — and this programme is specifically designed for landowners who are not on the ground. Many of our target partners are NRIs in Singapore, Malaysia, UAE, and the UK who own inherited farmland in Tamil Nadu or Kerala but cannot manage it from abroad. We handle 100% of the farm operations. You receive your annual payment to whichever bank account you specify — in India or overseas.
How much will I earn per year?+
The annual payment is fixed in the contract before the season begins — based on the number of trees, their age, and current productivity. For reference, our current Phase 1 contract covers 600 trees at ₹15L annual value. Every farm is different. Contact us and we will assess your land and give you a specific figure within 48 hours.
What happens if the coconut harvest is poor that year?+
You still receive your full contracted payment. That is the entire point of a fixed contract. The harvest risk sits with Adobha Agro, not with you. A bad monsoon, a pest outbreak, a difficult season — none of that affects your income. Your payment is guaranteed in writing.
How long is the contract?+
Standard contracts are 3 to 5 years. We prefer longer contracts because they allow us to invest properly in the farm — soil health, organic certification, yield improvement. A 3-year contract is the minimum. After each term, we offer renewal at updated rates.
What trees qualify? Only coconut?+
Currently, yes — only coconut trees. The Green Root Programme is built specifically around coconut because it is our core crop and the foundation of our supply chain. Coconut trees of any age qualify — though mature trees (7 years and older) produce the best yields and receive the strongest contract terms.
I have farmland but no coconut trees yet. Can I still join?+
Not immediately under the current programme — but we would like to speak with you. If you have suitable land in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka or Andhra Pradesh, we are exploring a separate programme for new plantation development. Contact us and we will explain the options.
How do I get started?+
Reach out to us with the following details and we will respond within 48 hours with a specific proposal for your farm:
  • Your name and location
  • State and district where your farm is located
  • Approximate number of coconut trees
  • Whether you manage the farm yourself or from abroad
